This is actually a section from the Feather damascus, but just the W's portion not including the split section, so you can see the movement through the piece from the split still, further accentuating by complexly hand forging the entire blade profile and geometry.
This is from the same Loaf of damascus as the previous Gyuto, by using a thinner section of the loaf the pattern is more compressed so it is in perfect scale for the size of the piece as said this piece is the W's portion of the pattern after the split.
Materials are 01/15n20, with these materials they actually work very well together to create the best possible hardness balanced with structural toughness from the 15n20, and you get all the benefits from damascus crossing the edge as the wear rate is uneven you get micro serrations forming between sharpenings, giving a toothy lasting edge as the edge wears.
Blade specifications
Length - 65mm
height 18mm
Thickness entering handle 3.2mm - over heel on spine 2mm- halfway- 1.4 - 5mm from tip 0.5mm
Grind is lightly convexed, with a larger microlevel than a chef knife to deal with in hand use and general utility.
These are at 65hrc but material is super tough due to way the materials work together.
Handle options Wa from £60 for basic wedge with spacer...Western from £250 for a stabilised wood with a nickel spacer. But I will make and price anything you have in mind.
The price is for the blade amount as a buy in on a custom order for the remaining handle work. Handle amount plus shipping is invoice on completion.
