The Cleaver is 210mm in blade length, 70mm tall over the heel. This is a substantial knife at 4mm on the spine tapering to 1.5mm. The weight is 415 grams. However this weight is perfectly balanced right on the heel. The extreme geometry make it cut very well indeed, like a much thinner knife with very little sticking. This is because the faces are hollow ground, meaning there is no friction behind the flat bevels. Also the knife can be thinned as it is sharpened without effecting the very highly finished damascus. The damascus is 15n20 01 and thin veins of pure nickel. The edge is 01 at 61-62 hrc hardness. The flat bevels are stone finished, with a tiny microbevel. The Handle ferrule and endcap is also in a 9 bar composite tight twist in the same materials. The wood is the finest grade Red Koa set off with Nickel silver and Jadeite spacers
