This was fun to forge.... Big heavy Cleaver forged in en9, medium carbon steel, tempered back to 58hrc, perfect toughness for a tough use meat cleaver. The geometry is Heavy, but the knife has forged bevels, so the knife thins down considerably into the middle before the lower bevel which is a steep tough short little convex bevel, for really tough use, but also some finess to the forge work. Plenty of texture on this one and a hot punched eye for hanging to complete the look. Following the hard use theme we have full tang, tapered and fitted with Micarta scales, secured with riveted stainless tubes. Doesn't get more practical :)

Blade length is 220mm, Height is 80mm at the heel widening to 100mm at the tip.
Thickness is 7mm spine at heel, halfway, 4mm, tip 2.5mm
The forging is extreme knife being 2.5mm at its thinnest 30mm up from the edge, bit thicker into the final bevel, check the heel shot for the awesome forged geometry shot. With the forging behind...The edge is profiled like a little bullet!!
