I have been working and developing my forged geometry knives for many years now in carbon steel. Stainless clad has always proved tricky, due to the heat short nature of the material its tough to forge the geometry thin enough, with some additional development of tooling I finally achieved the thin precise geometry I wanted in this nakiri and some stunning texture to boot. The core is sc125 at full hardness, there is a pure nickel carbon barrier so none of the carbon has escaped the core during the higher temperature weld necessary for stainless clad. To celebrate this achievement I have dressed the Nakiri as a special package with a chunky Oak Saya, A forged copper Primrose feature on the keep pin, with a matching copper/epoxy inlay in the Wa handle ferrule.
Performance of the knife is superb, from the heel....perfect blend of geometry with weight for food release without a feeling of wedging, tip becomes super fine geometry for very low friction cuts indeed.

All 100% stable materials, stab curly birch, jet black Juma ferule with red and black corian and copper spacers. To match the Primrose says theme, I have carved a primrose motif in the ferrule, filled with copper/epoxy and polished.
The Saya is in white Oak, nice and chunky, rounded edges, with oil coating, the knife is a snug secure fit and for absolute security there is a Forged copper primrose pin, with a polished botton on the other side left proud to pop out the snug fitting pin.
