If this magnificent knife had a theme tune, it would be Mama gona knock you out...
Rare to see such a honyaki beast in such fine steel as sc125.
Having weight allows you to do extraordinary things with the geometry, this knife though heavy will perform with perfect cut and release, the felling of it cutting food will surprise you, with virtually no feeling of wedging in harder foods. For those who know how to use the weight and size :) Because of the way the knife is forged it keeps a good deal of its weight at the rear of the spine and into the handle so this beast balances perfectly. Heat treatment is full on 65/66hrc, very hard and will hold an edge for a long time, but care should be taken around bones, grit etc.
The Hamon turned out perfect on these with clouds and lots of activity below and into the spine.
