Rare to see a big Honyaki from me, this one is a beast with very fine geometry. Spine is 4mm no flex whatsoever, very very thin convex geometry into the lower bevel. This hamon came out with vivid legs and plenty of activity going on above the hamon, and into the spine on the tip.... alloy banding is also visible. The finish is a simple 400 grit, followed by lots of polishing with wa powder, giving a hamon that pops in every detail in the light, yet a practical to maintain finish. The steel is super hard, 65/66hrc, and will hold an edge for a long long time. As with all honyaki a little extra care needs to be taken around hard grits or surfaces with potentially chipping the steel.
This one has a vivid green, blue micarta and copper Wa handle:)
