This piece came back with me after the gathering, it cuts great just maybe not as pretty as the damascus wit the rustic finish, so will do post gathering special price reduced from £490.
Another in the same style, almost entirely forged geometry just a little grinding in the hollows, then the lower bevels are ground flatted and finished don natural stones. This one is a medium carbon spring steel cladding and 01 core using my latest heat treatment to achieve a high hardness while retaining the toughness and stability.
Apart from the work where it counts on the lower bevel the geometry is forged and not hand finished to the level of polish I would usually do for san mai its a more rustic style and a bit cheaper as a result. The theme here is rustic beauty with function performance and long term maintainability.

Thickness over heel 3.5mm
1mm 10mm behind tip.
Weight - 223g, I put this at a midnight and feel knife compared to the heavy weight damascus 240,
Yet zero flex,
