I think this cute tall Petty shape, while perhaps lacking for the all out knife nut is the perfect gift for the less Knife orientated member of your family or friends. Its a sturdy little knife, which will be very easy to handle and control and just deep enough to handle most tasks for preparing food, Plus its made in my own stainless san mai so the cladding will not stain, the core will patina beutifully and being a forged wide bevel knife will be very easy for you to sharpen it for them when asked nicely:) I would like to call if a Wife Knife, but that would depend who is the one who is more knife orientated;)
Nether the less the thinness into the edge and heat treatment is utterly badass, I used a thin nickel layer to retain all the carbon during lamination, these are still at a full 65hrc hardness, and come thin, you can easily thicken the microbevel if your spouse, loved one etc tends to be a little clumsy. But generally this steel is not prone to chip, it takes quite a bit of force and flex to do so.
I have also rounded the heel softly on these to further increase the user friendlyness of the little Cutie.
